This also means disabling the Photos app on the Mac so that it does not try to sync to the iCloud. I for one have abandoned the Apple iCloud and use the Lightroom CC mobile app to move my mobile device image through Adobe's Creative Cloud instead. Going forward, you are going to need to decide if the Photos app is worth the effort and manage all of your Photos image by reference. In the LR import dialog, you can choose "Add" to leave the image in the copied Masters folder or choose "Copy" to make a new copy referenced by LR in sa new location OR you can choose "Move" to move the image from that copied Masters folder to a new location managed by LR. If you are using the newer Photos app, then the plugin won't work and you will need to manage all of your images by reference so that they are located outside of the Library Package You will find your Photos images inside the package in a folder named "Masters" Copy that folder to a location outside of the Photos Library and they will become visible to Lightroom for import. There is an Aperture/iPhotos LR Plugin that will convert your Aperture/iPhotos Library to a Lightroom Catalog. It sounds like your original image files are hidden inside the Library package being managed internally instead of by reference. Would prefer the straight to LR first method.Ĭan anybody explain how you set things up to export from Photos Library on a Drobo 5D (DAS) to LR, or provide a link that can help? Too much of a slope foreheaded, uni-browed, knuckle dragging lout when it comes to this stuff!!

I did find a way to export a photograph straight from Photos to PS, but not how to export it from PS to LR where I could do the bulk of my editing before moving back into PS for some final adjustments. Obviously this is a very short term measure because when I cleared them off the desktop LR couldn't find them anymore.

Eager to start, I exported a few images onto the mac's desktop, then to LR from there. Purchased Adobe Photography Plan a couple days ago. The Drobo is happy, healthy, and photos go straight from my memory card into the Drobo. Have a mac running 10.13.6 and have recently moved Photos Library into a Drobo 5D.

I'm new to digital photography (4x5 is getting lonely) and having trouble importing into LR Classic.
